What is the CMKP?

The Communist Mazdoor Kissan Party(Communist Workers and Peasants Party in english) is the largest and most advanced Marxist-Leninist party in Pakistan. It aspires to become the revolutionary vanguard of the workers and peasants of this country and aims to overthrow capitalism, imperialism, and feudalism in order to create a socialist society.

History of the Communist Mazdoor Kissan Party (CMKP)

The Communist Party of Pakistan (CPP) was created in 1948 with Sajjad Zaheer as it’s general secretary. An unsuccessful attempt to overthrow the government by anti-imperialist officers within the army led to the incrimination of members of the CPP in 1951. This was known as the ‘Rawalpindi conspiracy case’. This eventually led to a ban on the party and it’s front organizations including the Democratic student’s federation and the Progressive Writers movement (headed by the world famous poet Faiz Ahmed Faiz who along with Pablo Neruda won the Lenin peace prize in 1962), Pakistan Trade Union Federation (headed by the leading communist trade unionist, Mirza Ibrahim)  and Progressive Papers (a network of english and urdu newspapers set up by Mian Iftikharuddin) in 1954. The Communist Party and the movement went underground.

   In order to create a mass base, the CPP began to operate under the cover of the  anti-imperialist National Awami Party (NAP) headed by Maulana Bhashani. NAP was a conglomeration of leftist and regional nationalist groups formed in 1957. During the 1960’s, the CPP built grassroots support within the Workers and peasants mass organizations.

  In the 1970’s, the sino-soviet split divided the Communist movement into two groups. The Maoists who formed the Mazdoor Kissan party (MKP) in 1970 under the leadership of Major Ishaq Muhammed, launched a guerilla war against feudalism in the valley of Hashtnagar. The Communist Party of Pakistan continued it’s journey against enormous hardship and difficulty.

  In 1991, with the dissolution of the Soviet Union, the Left in Pakistan was completely demoralized. A great number of opportunist factions abandoned Marxism and the communist movement. This was a peroid of ideological wavering, confusion, desertion and international isolation. At this difficult juncture in history, the Communist Party of Pakistan and the Mazdoor Kissan Party came together to uphold the banner of communism. In 1994, both parties engaged in criticism and self-criticism and formed the Communist Mazdoor Kissan Party (CMKP). The CMKP is the continuity of the Communist Party of Pakistan and upholds Marxism-Leninism. As the world progresses in the 21st century we are full of enthusiasm and hope for a bright socialist future.

    Dear com. i dont no much about your party, history but if you say that you are ‘the most advanced’ then there is a problum with you basicaly its the problum of ideolgy. in the history of world socialist movment no one even lenin never told like that when the russia was standing in the gate of revolustion. marxism is the philosophy oy practices. first build the movment, chech your stratge then say anything whitout that you can be a fabulist but not a communist.
